19 days until opening weekend!
Hope that you all enjoy Serial Thriller aka Thunderhawk from Geauga Lake built in 1997. Edit: Please don’t bash Cedar Fair on this blog,
Once again you prove to be the best place to find stuff Michigan’s Adventure. I have a quick question, it looks like there’s a path around Thunderhawk that starts by the drop of the ride and ends at the train station. Is this accurate, and does the path extend all the way to Shivering Timbers? All in all great pics and thanks for keeping us up with construction, and I must say this ride looks amazingly profesional and well done. You can tell they will eventualy hook up both sides of the park, since each side carries out the Timbertown /Muskegon Logging Era theme. The entrance also looks very nice. Once again thanks for keeping us up to date, please continue in the future.
That last picture looks like Corkscrew got a new paint job. Where is the entrance to Thunderhawk. Is it across from Adventure Falls.
Hi Andrew, that is accurate, there is indeed a path that goes around, but it is for a maintenance entrance. As far as I know, the two sides of the park will not be connected this year from behind Wildcat.
David, you are correct, the entrance is almost directly across from Adventure Falls.
whats up, this looks great, makes the park look better then it ever has,
cannot wait to see in person…
are they gonna add grass on the dirt for landscaping, the park value just went up, lets all hope…
I guarantee they will add grass, they’ll do that once all construction is finished.
Thanks for the update! Great photos, but how do you get into the park to take them? Or do you take them from outside the park?
I love what Michigan’s Adventure is doign with this coaster… It’s almost like a tribute to both Thunderhawk & Serial Thriller (yellow/orange - red/turquoise)
Hi Matt,
The photos are indeed from inside the park. I cannot share how I get in the park, but ensure it’s legit and it benefits both the fans and MIA. You will notice in all the posts where I took pictures from inside, I gave special thanks to MIA. I also share the photos I take with MIA for them to post on their site.
That Entrance Sign looks very similar to Mavericks.
Thanks Mark for letting me know.
How’s Thunderhawk look next to Grand Rapids? Do they fit the same theme?
Are they planting any trees around the new ride? What side are people going to enter the station on, the Wolverine Wildcat side or the Adventure Falls side?
Thunderhawk looks great by Grand Rapids. The entrance is located right across from Adventure Falls.
Mark, are they testing the ride yet? If so could you try an get some pictures.
Mark will you be there opening day, and if so could you give us a Trip report for all who can’t make it opening day.
We really need an update Mark! Could you swing by the park and try tget some pictures inside like the last update. If its not to much trouble.
The park opens in a week. I’m sure you guys can wait a few more days and just see it for yourselves. Mark has a job and a life outside of providing photo updates for this site.;)
In wish their site would have a webcam, that would be very nice. 6 more days!!
Wow, I can’t believe the park opens tomorrow! I’m sure T-Hawks been testing for a while now. Anyone know if it will be ready for tomorrow.
To find out if Thunderhawk will be running, you will need to call the park. They will be able to tell you if it will be open on time.
For those going to MIA today, have fun. I have a very busy day at work, so my first day will be this Saturday. I am looking forward to riding Shivering Timbers again.
